Mobile technology is making TV more social.
Today wireless entertainment application GetGlue launched a service that for the first time allows subscribers of paid TV provider DirecTV to check in through the app and share what theyre watching with friends on their TV screen.
Apple has just sent outaninvite to its October 4 event, where the company says it will be talking about you guessed it the iPhone. Apple will be hosting the event on its Cupertino campus in Silicon Valley, even though formajor launchesthe tech giantusually takes its show up the road to San Francisco.
The end may be nigh for the iPhone speaker dock. Last September, Apple introduced AirPlay, a feature that allows you to stream content to specially enabled televisions and speakers. That means you may never again have to park your iPod or iPhone in a dock to play music.
