The Palm Pre Goes On Sale For $99

Perhaps the third time’s the charm for picking up a Palm Pre at a significant discount.

Online retailer Amazon is offering the touch-screen Pre, Palm’s answer to Apple’s iPhone and Research in Motion’s BlackBerry, for $99.99 with a two-year Sprint service agreement, without the need for a mail-in rebate. Up until now, the Pre has been selling for $199, a price that’s conditional upon a mail-in rebate and a contract with Sprint.
